About Texas Property Tax Appeal
Texas Property Tax Appeal is a DIY property tax protest toolkit built for Texas homeowners. We analyze publicly available county appraisal district data to show you whether your home is over-assessed compared to similar properties in your neighborhood.
If your assessment looks high, we generate a protest-ready evidence packet with comparable property analysis, filing instructions, and deadline reminders — everything you need to file your own protest and keep 100% of what you save.
Why we built this
Texas Comptroller data shows that homeowners who protest their property taxes succeed roughly 85% of the time. But most homeowners either don't know they can protest, or don't want to deal with the complexity. About 77% of protests in major counties are filed by paid agents who take a cut of the savings.
We believe homeowners shouldn't have to pay a percentage of their savings to challenge an assessment they didn't agree to. Our $49 flat-fee toolkit gives you the same data and analysis the professionals use — without the contingency fee.
How our data works
We analyze publicly available certified property values from county appraisal districts across 30 Texas counties, covering over 5.2 million properties. Our scoring engine compares your home's assessed value to neighborhood medians on a per-square-foot basis to identify properties that may be over-assessed.
This is the same equity-based comparison approach used in formal property tax hearings. The data comes directly from each county's appraisal district — the same source the appraisers use.
