What We Collect

Texas Property Tax Appeal (operated by Civic Ledger LLC) collects only the information necessary to provide our property tax analysis and evidence packet service:

  • Property searches: The house number and street name you enter to look up your property. We log search queries to improve search quality. We do not associate searches with your identity.
  • Email address: Provided at checkout to deliver your evidence packet, send filing deadline reminders, and enable purchase recovery. We may also collect your email through the agent interest form.
  • Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number. We store only the Stripe session ID and payment amount.
  • Usage events: We log anonymized events (searches, score card views, downloads) to understand how the tool is used. These events include property account numbers but not personal information.

What We Don't Collect

  • We do not use cookies or third-party tracking scripts.
  • We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tracking tools.
  • We do not collect device fingerprints or IP addresses for tracking purposes.
  • We store purchase verification in your browser's localStorage (not cookies).

How We Use Your Information

  • Evidence packet delivery: Your email is used to send your purchase receipt and download link.
  • Filing reminders: We send deadline reminder emails before the May 15 filing deadline to help you file on time.
  • Purchase recovery: If you lose access to your toolkit (changed browsers, cleared data), we use your email to send a recovery link.
  • Product communication: We may send emails about your purchase or updates relevant to your property tax protest. We will never send marketing emails for unrelated products.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on infrastructure hosted by Fly.io in a Dallas, TX data center. Property data comes from publicly available Texas Appraisal District (CAD) records.

All connections to our service use HTTPS encryption. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe and is PCI-DSS compliant.

We Never Sell Your Data

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share data with Stripe (payment processing) and Resend (email delivery), both of which are necessary to operate the service.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. We will remove your email address and purchase records within 30 days.

Property search data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to you.
